The Witch in Me, She Survived

What is a Witch, and do they exist?

Even though we live in the 21st century, a Witch is still seen as evil, dark, ugly, and not by many as not real. As a result, their Magick is seen as not real. Because Magick doesn’t exist, isn’t that so?! So, what is a Witch? According to Wikipedia, a Witch is a person to whom supernatural powers are attributed.

In order to be able to explain what a Witch is, we explain and distinguish the difference between Paganism, Witchcraft & Wicca.

Magic Spells

Pagan & Paganism:

Is a collective name for non-Abrahamic religions. It is often referred to as Idolatry and even mumbo-jumbo. Given that, often the Pagans follow a polytheistic belief. They believe in more than one God or Goddess. Pagans worship nature.
Examples of Paganism are Druids, Celts & Wiccans. Thus, Paganism is a belief.

Wiccan & Wicca:

This is a pagan belief and was developed in England during the first half of the 1900s. Introduced to the public in 1954 by Gerald Gardner. Wicca has no central authority figure, and it is typically duo theistic. Wiccans are working with a Goddess and a God. Wiccans believe in threefold and celebrate or worship nature.
All Wiccans are Pagan. But not all Pagans are Wicca.

Witch & Witchcraft:

Witchcraft is, as it says in the name, a craft. Thus, not a religion. It revolves around practising & studying Magick. This is done to change or influence certain circumstances or events. A Witch can be religious (Abrahamic), or not, or Pagan or a Wicca.

Witch

  • All Wiccans are Pagan, not all Pagans are Wiccan.
  • All Wiccans are Witches, not all Witches are Wiccans.
  • Some Pagans practice Witchcraft but not all.
  • Some Witches are religious, but not all.

How long do Paganism, Witchcraft & Wicca exist?

Both Paganism & Witchcraft are very old. Given that in the Bible, they mention Witches, you can imagine how old this craft is. In the first book of Samuel, The Witch of Endor is mentioned.

The term Paganism is first mentioned around the 1500s, the Renaissance when people became more aware of the ancient world. With this in mind, we have to acknowledge that worshipping mother nature probably is as old as humanity. Like Witches, there are Pagans mentioned in the Bible. Their roots lie in old nature religions in Europe.

Witchcraft is a craft that, without a doubt, mainly is practised by women. That still is the case as it was in ancient times. The belief is that with supernatural powers, something can be changed. Naturally with the use of spells, herbs and for example crystals.

It is ancient knowledge, mainly passed on from mother to daughter. These women were and are without a doubt an important source of knowledge for healing and help.

Last, but not least, we explain the origin of Wicca. Wicca is a new religion. It is a Pagan religion. Developed in the 1900s and was introduced to the public in 1954.

In short:
Witchcraft: Surprisingly, and accordingly proof, Stone Age inmates practised Witchcraft.
Paganism: 1500s. Without a doubt, it has its roots in the old European Nature Religions.
Wicca: Unquestionably, this is a new religion. Developed during the first half of the 1900s.

Since when are you a Witch?

I hear you ask. All things considered, there is only one correct answer. I am a Witch my whole life. Although this may be true, and I have always been interested in the Spiritual, Crystals, Herbs, Nature t begin with, I not have practised Witchcraft my whole life. Although I still follow courses to expand my knowledge, these courses/classes are not limited to being used with witchcraft.

What is my interpretation of being a Witch?

For me everything is energy. This means for me that all I do and say will be changed into energy. Everything I do and say has energy. It is energy. This also means that this energy can be positive or negative. Neutral is, in my opinion, difficult. It is none existing. Thus, everything you say and do needs to be positive.

Undoubtedly, it is impossible to be positive all the time. Not to mention, life is not a bed of roses. Truly. We all are aware of this. However, we have to try to be as positive as possible. Because positive energy will come back positive. In opposition to negative. You’ll catch the drift.

Being me, with all I have experienced in life, it is very hard for me to keep a positive mind. Notwithstanding, I try this with my whole being. Often having fallbacks. Yet, most important, I always get up again.

Next to the use of energy, for me being a witch is trying to use as many natural sources as possible. This can be, among others, flora, herbs and crystals.

What do I use in my craft?

  • Candles;
  • Crystals;
  • Flora & Herbs;
  • Insence;
  • Spells;
  • Tarot Cards;
  • Etc.

Spells in my vision

Using spells in no “Hocus Pocus” for me. I already have explained that for me everything is energy. Therefore, a Spell is putting extra energy into my intention. Creating reality by the intention of my words. Putting energy into the universe. Everything you put into the universe, both positive and negative, will find its way back to you. Therefore, the energy undoubtedly should be positive.

Although I sometimes would love to do it, I do not use Spells with black magic. Yes, I sometimes write a blog to help Karma. But I try to avoid black magic Spells. Additionally, I would not shy away from using an erectile dysfunction Spell. But only when needed in case of infidelity. In this case, I would use some herbs and probably crystals too!

Do I Believe in Magick?

Yes, I do believe in magick. Magick with “ck”. Magic with a “c” only for me is what magicians practise. For me, Magick is an attempt to understand what hasn’t been explained by scientists yet. And there are many things that haven’t been explained yet.

What kind of Witch am I?

It should be noted that there are many kinds of witches. Depending on the source there can be 5 types of witches or more. In truth, or at least, in my opinion, there are many more. Such as Sea witches, Green witches, Kitchen witches, Crystal witches etc.
I consider myself an eclectic witch. And I use many things in my craft.

From a very young age, I have the ability what is called Clair Cognizance. It means Clear Knowing. I know things that I can not know. And I have no idea where it comes from. Most of the time I keep my mouth shut, but sometimes words roll over my lips before I can stop them. Leaving people astonished. Flabbergasted. Over the years, more than a half-century, I have learned to trust what I know. Even though people often declare me a “crazy” person. It always came out as the truth. Always…
